Job Description

Debtwire, the leading financial newswire for the fixed income markets, is looking for a driven financial journalist to expand coverage for its Debtwire CEEMEA product. Working on the news desk, the Distressed Reporter will be expected to follow companies' earnings and publish news ahead of all other media outlets. The candidate will also track issuers' financial performance to generate leads and identify early warning signals. Debtwire CEEMEA provides actionable intelligence for subscribers on situations across Central and Eastern Europe/CIS/Russia, Middle East and North Africa, plus sub-Saharan Africa. The role requires an analytical mind, a high attention to detail and a proactive approach to relationship development and source building of bankers, lawyers, advisors and issuers. Candidates will also be required to produce secondary commentaries and features on market trends including structural developments, and assist in the collection of associated data. The role based in London is entirely focused on off-diary reporting and reporters are expected to use their own initiative to uncover leads from market sources. Experience of financial markets and/or debt finance would be highly advantageous. The position will offer the opportunity for foreign travel and moderating at conferences.
