Consultant in Medical Oncology Are you looking for an opportunity to join a dedicated team? Do you want to put the patient at the heart of everything you do? Then you should talk to us York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Oncologist. We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician who is interested in playing a key role within our dynamic MDT, as well as excelling in clinical practice. Please note that as part of the 10PA Job plan, cross site working at Harrogate Hospital will be required. The successful candidate will join a team of resident Oncologists who, together with visiting consultant colleagues and junior medics, work with our exceptional team of nurses, psychologists and allied health professionals to deliver the very best of care to our community. You will conduct outpatient clinics within our modern Cancer Care Centre and admit inpatients to our bespoke inpatient ward. Our patients receive chemotherapy either on site at York or by attending our ground breaking mobile chemotherapy unit, funded by York Against Cancer, out and about in our region. We are looking in particular for someone with specialty interests in Lung, Upper GI and Colorectal, but candidates with interests in other cancer sites are strongly encouraged to apply as we are seeking to develop our services in a number of areas. We work closely with Hull York Medical School and offer an excellent range of teaching opportunities, we also support research and have an active research department. You will receive an excellent Study leave package of 30 days to be taken over three years to support your on-going professional development.
