Job Description

Northumbria University in conjunction with QA Higher Education (QAHE) offers masters degrees in Cyber Security and Project Management at the University's London campus located in Middlesex Street (near Liverpool Street Station). QAHE is seeking to employ a full time Programme Leader for each of these MSc courses. The London Programme Leaders will play a key role in ensuring the creation of an enriching and dynamic student-focussed teaching and learning environment. The creation of an exceptional student experience and the achievement of excellent outcomes are at the heart of the University's London Campus. The Programme Leader plays an important role in planning and managing delivery of a programme at the London campus while at the same time working with the Northumbria Programme Lead to ensure conformity of student experience and to contribute to the development of the programme being delivered. In addition to developing and managing a team that is delivering high quality teaching and learning, there is the potential for candidates to become involved in research activity with the wider Northumbria University teams. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of academic management and programme leadership, together with evidence of the ability to develop and implement quality improvements at programme level. Experience of working in an academic partnership would be particularly valuable. Backed by an excellent and contemporary subject knowledge successful candidates will be also be able to demonstrate a commitment to creating a high quality learning and teaching environment which focuses on the student experience and attainment. In addition to the above candidates will ideally be qualified to at least masters level in a relevant field with PhD holders preferred, have a professional qualification where appropriate, HEA membership and relevant industrial experience. Support is also available, if required, to help staff gain/progress HEA membership. Applicants at masters level will be encouraged to study towards a PhD.
