Business Unit: Tactical Opportunities Business Unit Overview: Tactical Opportunities (Tac Opps) is Blackstone's opportunistic investment platform. The Tac Opps team invests globally across asset classes, industries and geographies, seeking to identify and execute on attractive, differentiated investment opportunities. As part of the strategy, the team leverages the intellectual capital across Blackstone's various businesses while continuously optimizing its approach in the face of ever-changing market conditions. Job Title: Analyst - Tactical Opportunities Asset Management Job Description: The candidate will help drive the overall Asset Management and underlying investments, including portfolio monitoring and individual investment-level oversight. The candidate will receive exposure to different asset classes, industries and geographies and a wide variety of transactions including dividend recaps, IPOs, mergers, acquisitions and potential exit strategies. Responsibilities: * Driving value across the portfolio including through onboarding investments, consistent interaction with top-level management of our portfolio companies/platforms and Tac Opps Deal teams, the development of financial/business analysis, and driving strategic initiatives and exits for our portfolio companies * Working collaboratively with deal teams to manage the full life cycle of portfolio companies from on-boarding, executing strategic and operational plans, monitoring financials, board and executive management governance and preparing companies for exit * Participating in annual leadership reviews, board effectiveness reviews, strategic reviews etc. * Being the point of contact on various portfolio-wide initiatives (cross-selling, etc.) and acting as a resource coordinator * Assisting on overall reporting, best practices, reporting, planning for Asset Management * Reviewing portfolio companies operations, evaluate management teams and portfolio company boards * Monitoring KPI trends across portfolio to monitor operating results, including performance against budgets * Advising management about key matters that impact the business on a short and long term period, in order to make a significant contribution to the realization of the organization's objective * Reviewing reporting packages that include operating and financial performance, variance analysis, and capital project status, and presentations and memoranda highlighting asset strategy and investment performance for internal and external use * Providing overall support to Tac Opps' deal teams across full group profile of investments * Ad hoc projects and research relating to Tac Opps' portfolio investments Qualifications: * 1-3 years of professional experience in Strategy Consulting, Investment Banking or Transaction Advisory Role * BS / BA in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field * Expertise in management reporting tools and ability to translate numbers into key business advice * Strong communication skills, self-starter * Detail oriented with the ability to continually monitor processes and procedures to optimize effectiveness of group * Motivated individual with the proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects while meeting demanding deadlines * A demonstrated ability to write effectively * A desire to work in a team environment If you need a reasonable accommodation to complete your application, please contact Human Resources at 212-583-5000 (US), +44 (0)20 7451 4000 (EMEA) or +852 3656 8600 (APAC).
