Goodyear. More Driven. The Senior Financial Accountant position is based at our Birmingham Head Office and reports to the Controller UK/Ireland and Nordics. About the Role: * The supervision and management of the property portfolio of 50 plus properties. Actively ensuring all legal requirements are met and all properties are maintained to a safe and smart standard. Ensuring all new leases are correctly constituted, and no additional fees or risks occur when a lease is handed back to the landlord. * Support and supervision of the Defined Benefit Pension scheme, including Tri Annual Valuations, Annual Statutory Reporting and Liability Reductions. * Equity Retail Network acquisition, integration and on-going support to ensure compliance with Goodyear controls and reporting requirements. * Detailed working with FP&A to fully align the forecast with actuals and to ensure that all deltas can be explained. High degree of control involvement with all rebates, over riders etc. Principle Duties and Responsibilities * Ensure the property portfolio is correctly run and avoid large unplanned expenses relating to rent arrears and dilapidation. * Ensure Defined Benefit pensions scheme is correctly supported and accounted for. * Support the merger and integrations of the Retail Equity network for existing and planned growth. Ensuring that the new businesses comply with Goodyear controls and reporting requirements. To provide support to the small businesses to ensure they are able to pass PWC audits. * Work closely with FP&A to ensure that all forecasts are understood. Ensure that it is possible to bridge all actuals to forecasts in a timely manner. Ensure that all rebates, over riders etc. are correctly documented and fully understood and correctly applied. * Drive continuous improvement and the simplification and standardisation of business processes and communications. Identify and implement initiatives that reduce non-value added and repetitive aspects of accounting. Utilise systems, knowledge and resources effectively. Ensure all Internal Audit and SOX teams data requests are complied with in timely manner. Experience, Knowledge & Skills * Minimum three years post qualification. * Experience of auditing large and complex international businesses. * Experience of US and UK GAAP reporting. * PC Literate, able to use SAP, Outlook and Microsoft Office products. * Excellent knowledge of Excel. * Strong numerical and analytical skills, ability to handle high volumes of data. * Good inter-personal skills. * Accurate with attention to detail. * Able to work both individually and as part of a team. #LI-TR1 Goodyear is one of the world's largest tyre companies.
