Senior MSL or Medical ScienceLiaison - Oncology/Haematology Territory: Midlands (Birmingham, Nottingham & Derby) This is a field based role covering the Midlands, working in a team of 5 MSL's, reporting into the UK MSL Manager, Oncology. Objectives: Senior Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) are key members of the affiliate medical department. This field-based roles focus on medical and scientific engagement with AbbVie stakeholders (including research and healthcare professionals, payers, and providers). The focus of this role is on interacting with, and supporting the needs of, Tier 1 and 2 external experts. They work to communicate information and facilitate dialogue about AbbVie's marketed products, and compounds in development, in a strictly scientific, non-promotional manner, and in full compliance with applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie's policies and procedures and accepted standards of best practice. Key responsibilities: + Ensurethat all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to allapplicable local, global and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes ofconduct, Company policies and accepted standards of best practice. + Providescientific and technical leadership to ensure professional and crediblerelationships with thought leaders and external experts of strategic importanceto AbbVie. + Ensurea strong medical and scientific presence for AbbVie in key academic centres byfacilitation of research and educational initiatives, while supporting requestsfor medical and scientific information on products or areas of therapeuticinterest to AbbVie. + Serveas a point of contact within the Medical Affairs team for thought leaders andexternal experts within an assigned geographic area in order to satisfy theirneeds for scientific knowledge in a therapeutic area and, when requested,relevant AbbVie medicines, to support their safe, effective and appropriateuse. + Delivercredible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, individually or ingroups (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), where requested, but with the focuson Tier 1 and 2 external experts - either reactively (in response to a medicalenquiry) or proactively (as part of a disease area awareness educationprogramme). + Facilitatemedical and scientific field intelligence - for example, competitor researchand medical strategies, educational activities, structure and function of NHS -and communicate, where appropriate, within the Company. + Attendrelevant scientific meetings and Conferences.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop summaries of key dataand other scientifically relevant information to inform AbbVie strategicpriorities and initiatives. + Supportinternal teams such as sales and marketing to develop their scientific andtechnical expertise through the delivery of scientific updatepresentations. Qualifications Qualifications + Advanceddegree (e.g. PharmD., MD, PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline is preferredbut candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline anddemonstrated experience will be considered.
