Job Description

Clinical or Counselling Psychologist - Personality Disorder and Complex Needs Transformation (Southend, Castlepoint and Rochford in Essex). (0.5WTE - 18.75 hours per week). A huge transformation programme in Essex has opened up a number of exciting opportunities for psychological services professionals who have an interest in the treatment and management of personality disorders and complex needs. The newly developed integrated care pathway will support the aspirations identified in the five year forward view and the NHS long term plan. These opportunities will challenge traditional models of mental health provision to prevent escalation of mental health crises and develop true community-based, integrated and systematic services. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist who wishes to help shape our services in this newly merged mental health Trust providing a range of services across Essex. Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has emerged as a stronger Trust that can deliver mental health in an innovative way in Essex, having managed to co-produce a model of service delivery with our various commissioners, partner providers and service users. The work will focus on managing and supporting patients with serious mental illness (SMI - usually complex trauma, Personality Disorder) and their teams through the often difficult transition from in-patient wards to home treatment teams, and community based services. The primary focus will be on addressing the treatment and management needs of patients with Personality Disorder, supported by both the locality or specialist service team, and the specialist PD MDT. The applicant will need to be experienced at working with people with extremely complex presentations. You will be part of making this change, while developing your own skills and forging a progressive career pathway. We will support and invest in any further clinical training, and leadership development. The South East Essex localities have advanced a number of innovative whole system initiatives linked with improving service delivery for patients with complex needs. We are passionate about co-producing service developments with experts by lived and living experience and have strong relationships with partner agencies. We have an established and cohesive Senior Management Team of Consultant grade Psychologists and Psychotherapists providing OPMH, Adult Community, Forensic & Secure, EIP, Crisis & Home Treatment, Personality Disorders, IAPT, Aspergers, LD, Adolescent in-patient, Psychotherapy, Perinatal and Clinical Health Psychology Services, and are a growing, vibrant service which has seen recent investment This post is eligible for the Trusts Relocation package which is up to 6,000 and also many other benefits of working for EPUT.
