Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our EWMHS team in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. If you are a professionally registered clinical psychologist and have the background, experience and proven track record in developing and delivering a high standard of evidence - based therapeutic intervention for young people and families then this is the post for you. As an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team you will: * Be directly involved in delivering and supervising a range of therapeutic interventions which may include individual and parent work, group work, and short term EWMHS input and specialist psychological treatments. * Provide neuropsychological assessments, including ADOS, to inform interventions with children and young people. * Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their parents/ carers and families. * Actively engage in treatment and outcome monitoring, including the use of normed measures associated with CYP-IAPT * Provide supervision to junior members of the team including psychology assistants and contribute to multidisciplinary decision making. In return, you will receive extensive training and development opportunities, tailored supervision and access to NELFT wide CPD forums with other clinical psychologists. Any young person experiencing emotional wellbeing or mental health problems, (or any parent, guardian, professional or teacher of a child who is experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties), may access our service. There are: a Children's Single Point of Access (CSPA), seven Locality Teams three Crisis Teams and specialist Learning Disability and Eating Disorders Team. These are located across Southend, Essex and Thurrock. What difficulties can be referred to the service? * Mood and anxiety disorders * Behavioural and conduct disorders * Emerging personality and attachment disorders * Eating disorders * Psychotic disorders * Deliberate self-harm and suicidal ideation * Substance misuse with co-existing mental health needs (dual diagnosis) * Autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) - with co-occurring mental health needs * Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) - with co-occurring mental health needs * Neurodevelopmental disorders - with co-occurring mental health needs. * Prolonged bereavement problems All referrals to the service are assessed using a care pathways approach, developed in line with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance criteria (NICE) and based on a best practice model of treatment. This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
