Job Description
Director of Finance and General Manager opportunity for a role based across Southend and Chelmsford locations. "DELIVER COMMERCIAL FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP" Essex Shared Services Limited is a financial management partnership between South Essex College and Chelmsford College. These are highly successful Further Education and Higher Education Colleges and both offer a variety of courses, both vocational and professional. The student experience is at the very centre of everything that the Colleges do, and their staff are passionate about delivering education and training that will ensure their students reach their potential. This role offers the dual challenge of being both Finance Director of South Essex College and also General Manager of Essex Shared Services Ltd. As Director of Finance and General Manager, you will be based across the various campuses in Southend and Chelmsford, and there will be an expectation to travel across these. Reporting into the Deputy Principal and Chief Executive for South Essex College and the Principal and Chief Executive for Chelmsford College, you will join the College's Leadership and Management Group and will work closely with colleagues across both Colleges to ensure a corporate approach to the management of the Colleges and embedding College cultures in all aspects. You will be required to take responsibility for the financial and management accounting, and of South Essex College ambitious Capital Investment Plans. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing and leading change and development of use of systems to improve the customer experience of your internal stake holders. The successful candidate will be CCAB Qualified and you will be a finance professional with drive and ambition. The organisation has a hands-on, problem solving, team culture so it is essential that you have the ability to roll your sleeves up and be involved in the day to day operations as well as coaching and influencing others to continue to innovate and improve our processes. You will have strong skills in strategic planning, monitoring and reporting on the delivery of plans and projects.
