Job Description
Purpose of job To provide support to our clients ensuring that they live the best possible quality of life during the time you spend with them. Being proactive to enable our clients to continue with a good quality of life when they are not being supported by thinking ahead and putting plans in place for our clients to remain as independent as possible. Key responsibilities We design our services to meet each client's needs. All of what we do is underpinned by companionship and conversation. Below is a list of tasks to give you an idea of what may be included, but not limited to, in our care packages. Arranging appointments and travel arrangements Assisting with entertaining and participation in hobbies Monitor diet and encourage healthy eating Plan visits, outings and trips Accompany to social visits, lunch or dinner Attending meetings and events Record family history and reminisce about the past Strong communication with management team Encourage clients independence Providing support with home help services: Light housekeeping, including dusting and vacuuming Help with washing and ironing Make beds and change bed linen Answering the door and telephone Organise wardrobes and cupboards Taking out rubbish Collecting prescriptions Meal preparation and tidy home Check food expiry dates Supervise home maintenance Oversee home deliveries Care for houseplants Assist with pet care Prepare shopping lists Help with general shopping Personal Care Services: Help with bathing Assist with dressing Provide grooming Help with incontinence care Assist with eating Dementia care Provide respite and convalescence care Provide medication - assistance, prompts or administration Assist with morning / wake up and evening / tuck in Qualifications Experience and Qualifications We are not looking for people with experience. Essential skills and qualities Patience Punctual Respectful Accountable Reliable and dependable Able to contribute independently within a team Honesty and integrity Strong compliance Positive interpersonal and customer service skills Interest in continuous development Confidential Flexibility to meet the needs of the role Strong planning and organising skills Availability required to meet the 40 hour employee contract commitment Must be available to work every other weekend and flexibility to support clients in the evenings where required.
