About us: Ernest Jackson offers a wide range of well-known branded products, as well as a comprehensive contract manufacturing service. At the factory site in Devon, Ernest Jackson has the capability to manufacture pastilles, sugar boilings and paste lozenges, made to exacting standards, some to formulae handed down by generations and others to meet the ever evolving market requirements. The Role The QC team's primary function is to enable batches to be both packed and then released to market following successful completion of testing requirements, to registered finished product and raw material specifications as appropriate. They also are responsible for the stability testing of products to ensure the on-going maintenance of the Product Licenses where applicable. The analysts carry out the responsibilities required in accordance with the laboratory testing schedule and with all appropriate EJ defined Quality systems, processes and procedures. We are currently looking for a QC Analyst to join this team on a fixed term contract for 12 months. Responsibilities * To execute defined primary tasks according to the regulatory, statutory, or client defined standards / requirements using equipment, materials and methodology as detailed by testing schedule / Lead Analyst. * To capture and record any data generated relating to the execution of the primary tasks in appropriate format and within a suitable time frame. * Counter-checking and approval of all work carried out by analyst team. * To identify any 'Out of Specification' / 'Out of Trend' results and to notify line management in a suitable time frame, including appropriate actions to address the issues. * To be proactive in identifying any issues and flagging to line management and/or QC Leadership Group as appropriate; offering appropriate actions to address as required * To ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety systems and legislation. Qualifications / skills required * Degree level or BS/MS in Chemistry. * Demonstrable aptitude in core skills relevant to the role. * Demonstrable aptitude in customer facing role. * Demonstrable aptitude in core technical skills; including use of laboratory-based software and Microsoft Office. * Previous analytical / method validation experience.
