Job Description

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). This is an exciting opportunity working in a large acute teaching hospital which offers development, training and support. ABOUT THE TEAM This is an opportunity to join our large Band 5 rotation. Rotations are 6 months in duration and offer an exciting opportunity to develop clinical skills and knowledge in a wide variety of clinical areas including Medicine, Orthopaedics, Hands, Cardiothoracic, Surgery, Medicine for Older People, Cancer Care, Neurology, Stroke, and Paediatrics. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will be working alongside advanced and specialist clinicians in all areas and will have access to regular supervision, training, development and a personal development plan. Our excellent appraisal programme also includes a one year preceptorship programme for new graduates. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and resilient. You must be a team player whilst being able to work autonomously and have the ability to champion the needs of your patients. Good communication, prioritisation and organisational skills are essential and we are looking for staff with sound clinical reasoning skills, who thrive on problem solving in partnership with their patients and multiple agencies. You will need to be a car driver, with full driving licence, or ability to travel between hospital sites for necessary patient visits. You would also need to be willing to work flexibly including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. We welcome new graduates as well as staff with experience.
