As well as the full range of services offered by similar district general hospitals we are proud to be a recognised provider of a number of highly specialised services (Multiple Sclerosis, Cystic Fibrosis, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Ophthalmology, Plastics). Due to promotion of the existing post-holder a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative clinical pharmacist with an interest in Medicines Information to join our award winning Medicines Information Team. We offer a Medicines Information service to a number of Acute, Mental Health and Community Trusts across the region with exciting plans to extend services further. The post is based at Frimley Park Hospital but may entail occasional travel to other sites within the Trust or to other organisations we currently deliver services to. You will work alongside the other band 7 Pharmacists within the Medicines Information team to provide enquiry answering and training for healthcare professionals across the region. The successful applicant will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, possessing the ability to organise and plan their work. Importantly they will have a passion for realising the potential that Medicines Information services have in supporting patients and healthcare professionals to improve the care and quality of life of people across our region. You must be a team player and able to work with a variety of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be supported through any future training needs including the possibility of undertaking an Independent Prescribing Qualification. Responsibilities will include: * Participating in the enquiry answering service including the patient helpline. * Helping to provide training in Medicines Information for Rotational Band 6 Pharmacists, Pre-Registration Pharmacists and Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians * Contributing to the review and development of the service * Providing a clinical pharmacy service to patients in specified therapeutic areas * The post holder will act as a role model for rotational pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists and pharmacy technicians You will be a suitably qualified hospital pharmacist with a good clinical background supported by a post graduate Clinical Certificate. Applications from those working towards completion of a post graduate Clinical Certificate are welcomed. You will have some experience in Medicines Information and in providing a clinical pharmacy service within an acute hospital setting.
