Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced nurse who is passionate about gynae-oncology to join the hospital based Gynae-oncology MDT. This is a permanent contract for a Band 7 Macmillan Gynae-oncology CNS post to work in the hospital for 22.5 hours per week Monday-Friday. You will provide specialist support and advice to patients acting as their Keyworker. You will oversee and co-ordinate services and personalise the cancer pathway for individual patients from pre- diagnosis to aftercare. You will lead service redesign in order to implement improvements and make services responsive to patient needs, including developing survivorship and moving on programmes. Applications for this post are invited from nurses who have experience at a senior level in gynaecology/oncology. You should also have a degree, a recognised oncology qualification and excellent communication skills. You should be committed to continuing education. As a Macmillan Gynae-oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be entitled to 2000 education grant over 2 years to support continuing education.
