GSK is a global leader in Consumer Healthcare (CH) with consumer-preferred and expert-recommended brands that are differentiated by science and consumer insight-driven innovation. We are looking for a Communications and Government Affairs (CGA) professional to work with our CH Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Global Marketing Team. The Director-level, grade 4 position will be based at our headquarters in London and be responsible for developing a proactive and ambitious CGA strategy for Global Marketing that engages key stakeholders, leverages opportunities, manages risks and builds corporate reputation. The successful candidate will need to influence and lead with confidence in a complex and matrixed environment. Key Responsibilities * Support Chief Marketing Officer and areas of Global Marketing, such as the EDGE, and the Global Categories * Participate as a member of the Global Marketing and CH CGA Leadership Teams * Define key topics and themes for proactive internal and external engagement and environment shaping * Develop and execute a strategic communications plan that includes * Internal communications that informs and engages broader CH organization * External communications that positions CH marketing expertise to key business and trade media, social platforms, influencers and speaking platforms at conferences * Lead, develop and manage always-on content and channels for Global Marketing * Coordinate and integrate Global Marketing content into Global and Local CH communications and channels for broader reach * Support Global Marketing townhalls and CMO market visits * Develop and execute communications that informs, educates and embeds major change initiatives (e.g., Operating Model, agency transformation, etc.) * Manage communications that help promote brands and mitigate issues related to Global Categories and power brands (e.g., ingredient issues) * Work with Global Policy and GA to develop policy positions in support of Global Marketing and Global Categories; ensure Global Marketing personnel and relevant Global Categories are aware and well informed about policies * Participate on team that oversees Connect to Win, contribute to meeting content and lead on communications for and about the meeting * Participate on team that oversees Cannes participation and lead on securing and managing speaking opportunities and all media interviews at the conference * Develop and promote brand advocacy/brand love programme * Identify, secure and manage key external partners, contractors and agencies that help support and deliver CGA strategy * Manage and develop team of CGA professionals supporting Global Categories as well as all related budgets Qualifications * Extensive experience in Communications and Government Affairs * Experience working for a healthcare or consumer goods company and/or on consumer accounts within an agency * Very strong writing skills * Experience with metrics-based communications planning, change management, brand PR and issues management * Understanding and experience working with marketing teams and in a matrixed organization * Highly collaborative with experience building relationships and consensus across diverse stakeholders * Proven ability to manage ambiguity and change, define new approaches and drive clarity in an evolving environment * Good judgment, strategic thinking and thought leadership * Support and counsel to senior leaders * University degree in Communications or Business; Master's degree a plus * Ability to travel About GSK We are a science-led global healthcare company with a special purpose: to help people do more, feel better, live longer.
