MEDICINE MANAGEMENT PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - ACUTE MEDICINE Band 5 Full time 37.5 hours/week (& weekend working) West Middlesex site West Middlesex University Hospital is a modern, busy acute hospital in West London with excellent transport links to London Waterloo within 20 minutes. We provide a full range of services to local residents including acute medicine, surgery, paediatric and neonatal services, oncology, haematology and ICU. West Middlesex Hospital is part of the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician (MMPT) to join our forward thinking AMU pharmacy team. The post holder will work closely with the Pharmacists and ward staff on our Acute Medical Unit (AMU).The post holder will need to be NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified, registered with the GPhC and hold the accredited checking qualification (ACPT). Hospital experience is essential. The post holder will deliver quality care to patients at ward level as part of an efficient Medicines Management team. This includes confirming patient medication histories, assessment of patient's own medicines, non-stock transcription and one stop dispensing, counselling patients about their medicines and co-ordinating the supply of discharge medication. The role also includes managing the satellite pharmacy in AMU. There will also be a late duty/weekend shift in main dispensary (on a rota basis) The post holder must possess excellent problem solving and time management skills and be able to bring new ideas to the department.
