JOIN OUR TEAM IN BRIDGES INTERNATIONAL DEPARTMENT IN LONDON In Bridges International in UK, you will become part of COWI's Bridges unit, which holds more than 600 skilled experts worldwide. Our services cover the entire lifecycle of a bridge, from planning and design to operation and refurbishment or decommissioning, and we are privileged to include some of the world's highest and longest bridges amongst our accomplishments. REALISE YOUR POTENTIAL WITHIN A WORLD-CLASS TEAM As a Senior/Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking design, checking or assessment tasks across wide range of both new and existing bridges and other complex structures. You will report to designated Project Directors for project work, and a Line Manager in the London office. Our Technical Directors will support you in achieving the industry-leading technical quality we strive for in every aspect of our work. On a day-to-day basis, you will: * Project manage the delivery of bridge projects * Prepare documents, calculations and drawings and be responsible for the deliverables of others working on your projects * Attend client meetings and build business relationships * Undertake site visits, as appropriate to your projects * Lead by example, and mentor and develop less experienced team members to enable them to achieve their full potential COWI is a leader within its field, because its employees are leaders within theirs. To succeed in this position, we believe that you should be a team player, be organised, self-motivated, and have good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Furthermore, you should: * Be a Chartered Civil and/or Structural Engineer. * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English * Be committed to your personal development and to upholding high standards of technical quality in your work and that of others. * Have a proven track record in managing the delivery of bridge designs and assessments, either as client's or contractor's designer, ideally both. * Be a technically strong engineer, able to demonstrate a deep understanding and passion for structural engineering, and competence in the design and assessment of steel and concrete bridges. * Be willing to travel and have a high level of proficiency in the French language (verbal and technical written communication).
