Job Description
VP/Director of Engineering / London / £120k - £150k / 10% Bonus I am working with a brand-new organisation who are looking for a new VP of Engineering to take charge of their engineering department which is split between London and Kiev. The business has been in operation for just shy of 10 years and have grown considerably to around 250 employees. They specialise in developing cutting edge products and platforms which are used to help global organisations make informed marketing & advertising decisions to boost brand recognition and enhance sales. They have expanded internationally since inception and now have an office in London, one in Kiev and a brand-new office in Madrid. They have an engineering team of around 40 with a middle management team of 7 and they are looking for a VP of Engineering to oversee the entire operation of the engineering team. This role reports into the COO therefore, you will be the most technical person within the business. You will be responsible for working with the senior leadership team to set out strategic directions, a technical roadmap, drive the product development, continue the growth of the team, provide expert leadership and mentoring to the middle management team and monitor the entire performance of the team. As they do have multiple office locations you will be responsible for multinational teams so prior experience in this area would be beneficial. You will also need to be comfortable with occasional travel to their Kiev office, nothing too regular, around once a quarter. This company are within the AdTech sector and you will need to have experience within this field to be able to hit the ground running. A lot of the work done is in Scala therefore, if you have a strong engineering background in Scala or if you have experience managing and hiring Scala engineers then this would be hugely beneficial. Skills required: * 5+ years' experience leading and managing large engineering teams * Experience managing teams across multiple locations * Deep experience within AdTech is essential * Scala experience would be good * Strong stakeholder management experience * Development and implementation of technical roadmaps * Manage and drive product development * Provide leadership and mentorship to the engineering team whilst continuing to grow the team * Management of third-party vendors * Provide direction on the architecture of product development Package: On offer is a salary of up to £150,000 + a 10% bonus along with multiple other benefits.
