JOIN OUR TUNNELS AND RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE TEAM IN YORK Tunnel, Underground and Rail Infrastructure has hundreds of skilled experts worldwide and have one of the largest infrastructure departments in the world. We are experienced in all types of tunnels and infrastructure in sectors ranging from railways, highways, metros to energy and power, and we cover the entire lifecycle of a project from idea, concept and design to operation and maintenance. Our Rail Infrastructure projects are diverse, technically challenging and always absorbing and include sprayed concrete and segmental lining, new shafts, utility tunnels, tunnel repairs and refurbishment, new build / replacement and refurbishment of bridges, footbridges and rail station platforms and lineside infrastructure, under track crossings (UTX's), depot expansions and temporary works design. EXTEND YOUR POTENTIAL WITHIN A TEAM OF EXPERTS In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with the Principal Engineer. Your role in our team will be to provide technical leadership to projects. On a day to day basis, you will: * Assist in the development of conceptual design, produce engineering designs and details in accordance with project requirements * Develop and implement design best practices in areas of expertise ensuring conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements * Project Management * Performs and reviews calculations for analysis * Mentoring and developing less experienced team members to allow them to achieve their full potential COWI is a leader within our field, because our employees are leaders within theirs. Furthermore, you shall: * Be a Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer (C.Eng) * Have experience of designing all types of structures in the rail sector in the UK * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English * Possess strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and current design standards * Be able to communicate / liaise effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors * Have the ability to provide technical leadership with the ability to coach, lead, manage and develop a team DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?
