York, North Yorkshire

Overview

Job Description

Job Introduction We are looking for dedicated, passionate and skilled senior nurses to join our established and experienced team at Garrow House in York. Our service is a 12 bed NHS England commissioned Tier 4 Personality Disorder service offering support to women, primarily from Yorkshire and the Humber, but in some cases nationally. We offer a specialist recovery focused service with the aim of providing a 'step down' from more secure settings. In some cases, we support women who have experienced repeated inpatient admissions, to lead a life outside of hospital. Our team consists of nurses, support workers, a social worker, occupational therapist, service user involvement worker, clinical psychologist, and consultant psychiatrist. Together we provide the resources that enable people to build upon their recovery and achieve their goals. We work collaboratively with community mental and physical health services to ensure people have the best chance of success. Role Responsibility We aspire to work in true partnership with our service users and encourage everyone to reach their full potential, whilst working towards personal recovery goals. Ultimately our aim is to reintroduce and maintain daily living skills alongside psycho-social interventions necessary to equip people to live more independently in the community with confidence. Working alongside a full and varied, caring and inclusive multi-disciplinary team, you will develop therapeutic relationships with our service users, working with the women to develop appropriate coping strategies and skills for more independent living. Garrow House is a unique environment that works consistently to improve Outcomes for the women in our Care. The Ideal Candidate If you are someone who understands the importance of recovery and are passionate about seeing people achieve their goals, then we want to hear from you. We need you to be a qualified nurse, with experience of working with Women with Personality Disorders, or an understanding of this diagnosis and a passion for working in this area of Nursing, also a good understanding of mental health, (including knowledge of the mental health act, mental capacity act and care program approach). You will be fully engaged in a range of activities such as: taking part in clinical audits, acting as a primary nurse for nominated service users, participating in MDT reviews, and the CPA process. Acting as a professional role model, you will also take part in clinical supervision and offer supervision to more junior members of staff and act as a mentor for student nurses. In return for your hard work, dedication and commitment, we can offer the opportunity to grow, learn and develop as a practitioner in an environment that is focused on recovery and collaborative MDT working. As a senior nurse you would be expected to work days and nights, over a 7 day week as part of a shift rotation. About us Why Turning Point?
