The role: We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team as a Platform Engineer, to be part of our expanding software development group and help us along on our Enterprise DevOps journey. You will be involved in defining technical solutions, infrastructure architecture and implementation of engineering solutions in an established engineering function. You will work as part of a large software development group evolving our agile maturity to deliver the best products within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will be passionate about automation and understands the real benefits of agile with significant experience of working within a DevOps culture. Principle Responsibilities: Automate everything' from application maintenance and monitoring to incident response Identify and mitigate security threats to comply with our strict security compliance Develop, support and improve operational practices and procedures Produce high-level documentation Innovation in all areas - people, process, technology. Required Skills and Experience: Cloud services - practical experience with management of cloud infrastructure in AWS (preferably holds a recognised cloud certification). Containerised services - experience of managing services in a Kubernetes environment Familiarity with microservices architecture - support applications using tools - Apache Kafka/Hashicorp Vault Source Control - manage code via source control tools - GIT Configuration management - Ansible, Hashicorp Packer & Terraform Independent programming and/or strong scripting skills. Strong Linux skills - application deployment and support: Ubuntu, Redhat Basic DB skills - MySQL / POSTGres/DynamoDB Desirable Skills and Experience: Lateral thinking, reverse engineering, good at problem solving & decision making. Agile / Scrum, experience of working in a software development environment Obsession for good documentation: using wiki to log changes, write procedures and instructions Continuous integration tools - Jenkins, Maven, Git Experience with agile tools - JIRA / Confluence / Wiki / Slack Software or Operations engineering background Job: **Product Development* Organization: **Central* Title: Platform Engineer (SRE) - Experian Location: GBR-England-Nottingham Requisition ID: 20150
