Overview of the Department: The Capital Management and Analysis team forms part of the broader Finance department and represents the firm's second line of defence to independently monitor adherence to the firm's risk appetite for Prudential Risk. Main responsibilities of the Capital Management and Analysis team include COREP capital reporting as well as regulatory / internal Capital Risk advisory and optimization. Main purpose of the role: We have an opportunity within the Capital Management and Analysis team which is part of the broader Finance department. The role will focus on Prudential Risk / Capital Management. It involves COREP capital reporting as well as support for the team's Capital Risk advisory and optimization work. Key responsibilities: * Daily monitoring of capital adequacy for internal risk management and control involving working closely with Front Office, Treasury and Finance. * Daily monitoring & reporting of the firm's capital adequacy profile against regulatory and internal requirements * Explanation of significant changes in the firm's capital adequacy profile * Ensure accurate and timely COREP report submissions to the UK PRA including implementation of key controls * Compliance with EBA / PRA / Basel 3 / JFSA requirements for Capital Adequacy * Capital Stress testing and scenario analysis * Preparation of report submissions to internal governance bodies, e.g. ALCO or Board Risk Committee * Onboarding and testing of new strategic infrastructure solutions (through Moodys' Risk Authority platform) for regulatory reporting * Support the impact assessment of new products, new deals or new businesses on the firm's capital metrics * Support ICAAP preparation * Involvement in upcoming regulatory change projects impacting capital requirements, e.g. FRTB, SA-CCR etc. Work experience: Essential: * Minimum of two years (depending on the level of hiring) industry experience with some time spend in Prudential Risk Management or COREP capital reporting * Good understanding of a broad range of derivatives and SFTs Preferred: * Working knowledge of vendor solutions for COREP capital reporting, ideally Moodys' Risk Authority platform Skills and experience: Functional / Technical Competencies: Essential: * Experience in prudential risk * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, e.g. Excel etc. Preferred: * Familiarity with upcoming regulatory change impacting regulatory capital requirements * Database related knowledge, e.g. SQL * Business Intelligence software, e.g. Business Objects * Familiarity with project and change management including reviewing requirements documentation as well as user testing Education/Qualifications: Essential: * Degree in an Accounting, Finance or numerical / analytical subject Preferred: * CFA or equivalent post graduate professional qualification and/or * Accounting qualification (or part qualification) Personal requirements: * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy * Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability * The ability to manage large workloads and tight deadlines * A proactive, motivated approach * Excellent communication skills * Excellent interpersonal skills Performance and Duties: * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy * Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability * The ability to manage large workloads and tight deadlines * A proactive, motivated approach * Excellent communication skills * Excellent interpersonal skills Managing Conflicts of Interests: * The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc. * The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour. * The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS. * Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc. * The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
