There are good transport links from Galashiels to central Edinburgh, trains running every thirty minutes (journey time 50 minutes approx). The Role The Community Rehabilitation Team provides a Borders-wide service for around 110 patients with severe and enduring mental health problems (mostly chronic schizophrenia). You will carry a caseload of appropriate patients in the community under consultant oversight and provide regular medical/psychiatric input to the in-patient units. Participation in the out of hours non resident on call rota for Psychiatry is voluntary and the rota is shared with 7 colleagues. You should demonstrate four years' postgraduate training / experience (or its equivalent) with at least two years experience in psychiatry, or related field such as general practice at training grade level (or equivalent). You should have evidence of achievement of foundation competences or equivalent and full GMC registration is essential with a licence to practice.
