Job Description

We require an occupational therapy technician to join our Occupational Therapy Team at Cygnet Lodge Lewisham, to support recovery and rehabilitation activities in the integrated male care pathway at Cygnet. Lewisham Lodge is a 17 bed house in the community that offers evidenced based care to promote social inclusion and independent living skills for individuals with complex needs. The Occupational Therapy Technician role involves planning and implementing activities as a therapeutic medium under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist. Quality improvement is high on our agenda. In the most recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessment we received a good rating. A great deal of work has been done to improve the quality of experience of staff and the people who use our services. The post holder will be expected to provide individual and group activities to support recovery and rehabilitation. Experience of supporting service users with mental illness is essential. Knowledge of recovery approaches and social inclusion is desirable. The individual will be offered regular supervision and be encouraged to partake in professional and personal development activities. Key attributes include effective communication skills, good organisational skills and a positive attitude.
