We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Gynae-oncology) to join our cancer services team based at our Duchess of Devonshire Wing (Cancer Centre) in Central London, (Close to Regents Park or Baker Street tube stations). Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is our award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. Job Description As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will work closely with both gynae-oncology Consultants, and the nursing teams at The London Clinic. As a member of the multidisciplinary team you will provide the highest standards of specialist nursing care to patients within gynae-oncology, as well as facilitate and support healthcare teams to implement evidence based practice, and contribute to the development of the gynae-oncology service. * Job Type: This is a full time, permanent position,working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. * Salary: The attractive salary for this role is 40,232 - 48,416, and will be dependent upon skills and experience. * Benefits package: We offer a comprehensive package which includes a contribution pension scheme (total annual contribution up to 20%), Private Medical Healthcare, 33 day's annual leave (Inclusive), plus much more. Duties & Responsibilities * Provide specialist knowledge, expertise and care to gynae-oncology patients, this includes optimal care for inpatients, outpatients and their families. * Assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspect of the patient's physical, psychological, and social needs, including HNA tool completion. * Provide gynae-oncology patients, their families and carers with a point of contact from diagnosis, through investigations and treatment, as well as providing support to ensure they have information to help them make informed decisions regarding their treatment. * Promote self-management, undertaking risk stratification to determine those who can self-manage, following education, those who will need guided support to self-manage and those who will require on-going, face to face support. * Monitor patients on an ongoing basis, to evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care practice to ensure optimum co-ordination and delivery of care. Skills & Experience * Registered Nurse with valid NMC pin. * Post registration course within Oncology with a recognised teaching qualification. * Considerable post registration experience in gynae-oncology care. * Previous involvement in the development, implementation and audit of clinical guidelines and standards. * Excellent communication, organisational and team building skills, with the ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations as well as initiate and manage change.
