An opportunity has arisen for an experienced ICT manager to lead our I.T. infrastructure service and work in partnership with our I.T. Operations Manager. The role has three direct reports, each of whom manage one of our development teams - Server & Storage, Voice & Data and Client & Endpoint. This is a senior management post in a busy acute hospital trust responsible for delivering the key foundations of a reliable I.T. service. The successful candidate will provide the expertise to plan for the future while delivering a highly available, service focused environment for over 6,000 nursing, clinical and corporate staff. They will be responsible for all aspects of our I.T. infrastructure which includes, but is not limited to: * Dell and HP physical servers and storage * VMware virtual servers, storage and desktops * Cisco network and telephony services * Microsoft server, SQL and desktop operating systems * Imprivata single sign on client services * Dell, HP, iGel and Apple endpoints * Public and corporate Wi-Fi services * Load balancers, web filters, client packaging, mobile devices and many more The main duties of the role will include: * Leadership and management of the three I.T. development team managers * Financial awareness to manage capital and revenue budgets * Developing and presenting business cases to support future plans and secure funding for their delivery * Implementing and managing an ITIL-based capacity and performance management solution to monitor resources, identify issues, provide recommendations and deliver where agreed * Working with our I.T. Programme Manager to implement and manage the successful delivery of technical work packages and tasks provided by the I.T. project management team * Management of third party suppliers to meet service level agreements Excellent interpersonal skills are required along with a strong inspirational leadership style and an awareness of future opportunities and technical advances. The ability to understand and communicate how our I.T. service directly impacts on patient care is key. The right candidate needs to be able to work under pressure while managing a varied and exciting workload that will deliver on existing roadmaps and have a direct input into future strategies.
