Job Description
Full Stack Software Engineer Who are Robin AI? Robin AI is an exciting, venture-backed technology start-up using artificial intelligence to change the way businesses do deals. Backed by Forward Partners (one of Londons leading early stage investors), Robin is building a range of products which use machine learning (in particular, natural language processing) to change the legal industry and the world of contracts. Robin was established in March 2019 by CEO Richard Robinson (a former City lawyer) and recently joined CTO James Clough (a theoretical physicist who works in Machine Learning). Our vision is to use artificial intelligence to amplify human potential by enhancing the tools available to legal professionals around the world. Why is this role important to Robin AI? At Robin AI, we create groundbreaking products that are transforming legal teams. Our work is multi-disciplinary and brings together the best talent in engineering, AI and the law. Our current product uses neural networks to read and comprehend written contracts, assesses whether they adhere to our customers preferred positions, and then automatically amends them. But our ambitions go way beyond reviewing contracts we want to build technology that changes that way companies do deals. To do that, we need to build. Over the next 12 months we expect to develop multiple web applications, user interfaces and back-end technologies, put them into production and improve them as we go. That means we need to grow our engineering team, so we are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to contribute to our exciting roadmap. You will work as a central part of our small team to improve our core product and design and build new solutions. Our Tech Stack Our frontend is built using React and Apollo, and we use Python web frameworks, such as Django and Flask, to implement our back-end services, alongside various other libraries such as Celery. Everything runs on AWS services, including but not limited to ECS, Lambda and SQS. We use CircleCI to build and deploy, and all of our infrastructure is managed using Terraform. Sounds great! What are my responsibilities? * Enhance the customer interface during customer facing iterations to truly improve the user interface of the product using React and related libraries; * Develop back-end services and APIs using Django and similar Python frameworks; * Help build and maintain the Infrastructure our products and components are deployed to; and * Write high quality, well tested code that solves challenging problems What about my skills? * You enjoy working across the stack, and have experience with React, and Python frameworks such as Django and Flask * Have a background working in a start-up or similar size organisation and are passionate about building high quality products * You embrace challenge and find innovative solutions to create simple, yet effective customer interfaces * Have an in-depth understanding of the entire development process (design, development and deployment) * Are familiar with modern build tools and pipelines You will enjoy working in a stimulating, diverse and intellectually challenging environment where collaboration is essential to achieving results. You should have at least three years experience working in an engineering team and be confident managing your own schedule while achieving measurable results. Experience working with Machine Learning/Data science models isnt a pre-requisite, but it is a bonus so let us know if youve worked in the space or have an interest in it.
