The RSA, in conjunction with BAME Recruitment are seeking applicants for a newly created and critical role for a Director of Development. The role: As Director of Development, you will work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure the RSA generate income to support its Change Model. Your core responsibility will be for developing new business partnerships and leveraging current income streams. You will lead a talented team in the securing of funding from a range of sources to enable the RSA to accelerate and deliver its programmatic activity. You and your three direct reports will focus on Fellowship growth, developing revenue from business (both restricted and unrestricted) and building relationships and funding from the RSA's varied partners. The Director of Development is an integral role in the core leadership team. Working closely with the CEO, COO and CRIO (Chief Research and Impact Officer) and other senior team members, you will play a crucial role in delivering the RSA's ambitious strategy, building on their strong foundations and record of success to lead in the growth of income. About you: As well as 'social impact, content, global scale, entrepreneurship' being part of your DNA, you will have the skills and experience to excel in the following areas:- * Capability to secure income of 4m+ pa * Substantial experience as a senior leader in a new business/partnerships/commercial environment with the ability to motivate and work across a complex organisation to achieve results * Strong ability to energise, motivate, engage and develop a talented team to deliver strategic results * Up to date knowledge and understanding of generating income working across numerous channels including corporates, funds, membership, grant givers, government and HNWI (high-net-worth individuals) * Exceptional relationship building, relationship management and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, influence and persuade at the highest level The RSA is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from people from all sections of the community.
