Job Description

This role sits in within the Commercial Domain in the Performance & Strategy Division. The Commercial Domain is a core competency of Technology and is critical to the success of the organisation by: * Bringing commercial consciousness earlier into the delivery lifecycle. * Successful pre-procurement activity of major and/or complex commercial activity for projects/programmes that are agreed through the Investment Board (IB). * Creation and Management of the Technology's wider budget of c100m. * Handling risks and opportunities to the annual budget. * Creation of detailed management accounts to help budget managers handle their cost base. * Tracking Project impact against the operational costs of the Division. * Liaison with Central Finance. * Creation and evolution of Vendor Management approaches and practices. * Reviewing and approving the aspects of Investment business cases that have a Technology focus. * Act on behalf of CIO and TLT regarding commercial activity providing oversight via the Commercial Management Board inc complex procurements. * The successful management and closure of major contract activity which present an opportunity (or risk) to the Bank. Job Description As part of the Technology Commercial Domain's evolution there is a need to support multiple Strategic Programmes through its Commercial Delivery phase and into BAU where the Banks Delivery Partner is the same and therefore a more strategic management approach is required. As the Vendor Manager, you will be responsible for helping the programmes be successful through the Delivery phase following the various contract awards of critical services and support Commercial SME's across the organisation. You will do this leading the various work streams contractual deliverable and obligations between the parties associated with the success of the programmes whilst taking overall responsibility for the vendor relationship in collaboration with Executives and HoD's. For clarity this role operates across all aspects of the Commercial Delivery lifecycle (Plan, Buy & Run). * A success for you will be the ability to influence senior management within the Programme(s). * Ability to lead multiple senior stakeholders through vendor relationship activities in governance and commercial matters. * You will integrate with other managers of the Programme(s) to operate as a single unit (virtual team approach). * You will be the SME for contractual matters internally as externally acting formally as the "relationship manager" for critical services within multiple Programmes and post delivery. * You will have the ability to lead senior stakeholders and SME's through complex implications of Bank set policy and standards. Role Requirements Essential Criteria * Experienced IT professional with a significant experience in taking care of vendors, markets in which they operate within a multisource environment. * Deep and significant experience with Software licensing, hardware and complex services contracts. * Extensive relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills. * Deep understanding of contractual procedures from purchasing to contract management and contract closure with validated ability to deal with complex risks and issues. * Strong experience of leading contract renewals within a complex delivery organisation. * Ability and experience in operating across a Technology Operating Model ensuring stakeholder alignment across a variety of subject matters and compliance items. * Ability to convey complex or technical information at the right level so that it is understood. * Ensures Technology Architecture teams are engaging potential vendors in alignment to sourcing process. * Good people management skills including influencing and negotiation skills. * Proficient at managing and dealing with external account teams. * Ability to convey complex commercial matters easily. * Strong influencing & negotiating skills - must be able to influence behaviour and outcomes with colleagues at a variety of levels. Desirable Criteria * Ability to convey complex or technical information at the right level so that it is understood. * Ensure Architecture teams are engaging potential vendors in alignment to sourcing process. * Expert knowledge and understanding of Public Procurement Processes. * Knowledge and understanding of Transactional Processes within a Financial Institution. * Experience of business case creation, management and delivery which demonstrates new ways of thinking. This role offers a base salary of up to 73,890 (subject to experience and skillset). The total package also includes: * A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked.
