Job Description
ottoscooter.co.uk Our Story At Otto Scooter, the mission is to give people the freedom to make a difference in their lives and to the lives of those closest to them. We deal with a number of demographics, consisting largely of new entrants into the UK, who need assistance, and the right tools to get on the job ladder and succeed. We do this through providing Electric Scooters to aspiring delivery couriers (working for UberEATS or Deliveroo for example). An electric scooter may not seem like a huge asset, but for many people, it offers an affordable and sustainable path to financial and social freedom, whilst also being an environmentally friendly alternative. At Otto Scooter, you will not only be a part of this positive mission, where you will see the physical results of your work on a daily basis, but you will also be in a supportive environment, with plenty of opportunities to grow within the company. The Role We require a full time Mechanic for our fleet of electric scooters. We require someone who is enthusiastic, dynamic and confident, with experience maintaining vehicles. We also are looking for someone who has experience riding a moped or motorcycle and currently has a valid UK driving license. Although we are promoting this as primarily a mechanic's role, you will be wearing multiple hats as we're still a small team. You'll be dealing working on tasks that are also credit control, marketing, claims and otherwise. You also may be required to work evenings and weekends (paid). At Otto Scooter our first objective is to make sure that our riders do their deliveries and get home safely each day. However, this isn't always possible, and it will be your responsibility to assist the team in making sure that any accidents that do occur are resolved as smoothly and painlessly as possible. All of our vehicles are fitted with trackers and CCTV to assist you with ascertaining liability. In addition to this, we need you to help other team members and our customers gain a better understanding of our mopeds work, and to raise driving standards by informing them of best practices. You will be responsible for repairing, maintaining and servicing our fleet of electric mopeds. Your main duties will include: · Fitting our mopeds with CCTV and GPS trackers · Installing additional accessories to the moped including windscreen, leg cover, delivery boxes, and more · Regularly service customer mopeds · Repair damaged or faulty mopeds · Recording detailed reports of damages, including taking clear photos of damages · Handling the administrative processes post-accidents, including retrieving and reviewing footage from our mopeds The Ideal Candidate We are looking for somebody with great problem solving skills, the ability to think proactively, and a talent for finding solutions quickly and effectively. The ideal candidate will have some previous experience repairing and maintaining vehicles, preferably motorbikes, and dealing with customers. We also expect our candidate to have the ability to write professional emails and speak over the phone professionally in fluent English (any additional languages are a bonus). However, we will also consider applications from candidates with strong transferable skills, and a passion for the role. Experience maintaining a moped is a definite must. The team here at Otto Scooter, as well as its sister company Otto Car, are extremely open to new ideas, and you will have the chance to produce work that you will visibly see the results of on a day to day basis, and which will directly impact the experience of thousands of existing drivers and riders. This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious candidates that want to join a growing team, with plenty of opportunities for career progression, and are able to adapt and make the role their own. This means we are not only looking for a good level of experience, but individuals who can express themselves well, take charge of situations where they are most needed, and who can think effectively on their feet. If this sounds like you then we would love to hear from you. Get in touch by submitting an application with your CV, and a Cover Letter explaining your reasons for applying. The Interview Process · Phone Call: We'll get on a 15-30 minute phone call where we will discuss the role, your experience and answer any questions you may have. · Final Interview: Successful candidates will also be asked to attend a final interview in-person. The Big Question We always ask ourselves before making a decision: What does amazing looks like, and how can we make that happen?
