Part of the Fintech Strategy and Open Banking team which reports into the Business Model Development and Analytics organization, the right candidate will have the opportunity to shape and execute Mastercard's go to market for Fintechs in Europe. This is a highly visible position that plays a key role in working with internal stakeholders, external parties, and Mastercard Europe senior leadership to ensure Mastercard protects and grows its position as preferred payment technology partner for Fintech. The best fit candidate for the role will be a highly motivated, focused individual, who has experience engaging key stakeholders in implementing corporate strategic initiatives, who knows well the Fintech space and how players interact, as well as the ability to drive project work and influence. The candidate will be responsible for executing key components of the pan-European enabler strategy - specifically securing commercial deals and / or equity investments that bring differentiation and value to Mastercard. Role Drive relationships with targeted pan European Fintech players in execution of identified engagement models Secure commercial deals and / or equity investments with key enabler fintechs and manage those relationships Define strategic imperative around new engagement models Develop relationships with other external parties including fintechs, customers, merchants, start-ups, venture capitalist and incubators Build strong internal stakeholder relationships and work closely with European divisions as well as regional and global product teams and technology partners Support external engagement strategy - communication and PR efforts around Fintech Represent MasterCard at external key events ALL ABOUT YOU: MBA or other advanced degree preferred Strategic mind-set combined with outside-the-box thinking and significant relevant payment experience, ideally combined with first-hand banking, strategy consulting, fintech, merchant and/or startup experience Experience executing complex cross-functional projects Ability to drive investment processes within Mastercard's strategy-led M&A framework and together with cross-functional teams including legal, corporate development, product, local markets and M&A Experience in developing optimal partnership structures Ability to drive business development processes, navigate issues, negotiate points externally and internally to gain alignment Ability to navigate and successfully build relationships among leadership internally and externally, understand Mastercard's existing capabilities and growth strategies Deep Knowledge of payments-including cards, open banking, ACH, real-time payments and other new flows-financial services or related areas a plus Self-starter and comfort working with ambiguity Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills Ability to travel Due to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
