16715BR Title: Systems Engineer (Interconnect / Cabling) Job Description: QuEST has a growing Electronics, Systems and Software engineering capability in the UK geared to support our customers across sections. As part of this team - An experienced Systems Engineer with a hardware background is required to take on management of the interconnect solution for a complex avionics system on a major development programme. Fundamentally, you will ensure that the system / aircraft interface cabling is correctly specified, manufacturing data packs are generated, and prototype & early stage production cabling is delivered on time and to cost. Note, that due to the nature of the tasks involved, you will have to achieve full SC security clearance, and may need to satisfy further UK eyes only and ITAR conditions. Key Responsibilities + Manage the delivery of the System / aircraft interface cabling for the programme; + Work in conjunction with the Systems, Electronics and Mechanical teams to specify the various interconnects within the system, including optical/electrical cables & connectors, and cooling connections; + Prepare the design data and present the interconnect / cabling solution at System / Hardware design reviews and to the end customer at Programme design reviews; + Ensure that all cable drawings and manufacturing data packs are correctly specified, to allow manufacture to proceed and achieve the required level of system performance; + Assess (in conjunction with the Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager) any changes in the scope of work resulting from avionics / system design changes, and identify potential solutions; + Agree the system interconnect / cabling solution with Engineering / Project management and manage any changes from a design / cost / schedule perspective; + Mitigate technical and programme risks; + Manage the System cabling work package; reporting to the Project Manager on progress, status and any schedule / cost variances against overall project plan. Skills & Qualifications + An ability to track and manage a diverse set of activities, with numerous interactions and dependencies; + Proven track record delivering engineering solutions on time, to cost and to meet required level of system performance; + Electrical knowledge or the ability to interface with electronic engineers to capture the requirements.
