Line of Service Assurance Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism Operations Management Level Manager Job Description & Summary A career within Operations, will provide the opportunity to support our engagement teams and clients operationally by providing advice on accounting, financial reporting, and strategic business issues. In joining, you'll help ensure a complete and relevant exchange of information among our consultants and in turn with engagement teams and clients, provide experts advice on a variety of specific topics, support engagement teams in resolving complex issues, and supporting clients and their subsidiaries in evaluating the potential impact of accounting and reporting standard setting initiatives. You'll develop strong relationships with our engagement teams and enhance our ability to meet greater investor expectations with the challenges of an increasingly complex business environment. As a part of our team, you'll help assist engagement teams in the areas of resource management, learning and development, human capital, reporting, technology and innovation, and quality and compliance. The successful candidate will work as part of our centralised Assurance Risk Management / Risk & Quality team to further strengthen our resources during a period of ongoing development and change, increase in regulation and growth of our assurance practice. An integral part of the role is staying up to date with developments in the areas of risk management / risk & quality (including related standards, regulatory and legal requirements). This will involve attending training, developing firm risk management / risk & quality policies and guidance, monitoring PwC network databases and guidance, monitoring regulatory developments generally and publications by audit regulators.The team reports to the partner in charge of Risk Management within the Assurance practice. Key Tasks Include: * Responding to enquiries and consultations from engagement teams on risk management matters (including, for example, client and engagement acceptance, letters of engagement & terms of business, reporting to regulatory authorities). * Assisting engagement teams to identify appropriate standards and guidance. * Designing and delivering annual training to the partner / manager group on topical risk management / risk & quality matters and developments. * Assisting teams during audit inspection visits - both internal and external. * Assisting with responding to audit regulators. * Engaging and interacting with risk and quality counterparts in other jurisdictions. * Developing policy and guidance, for internal use, on Irish specific risk management / risk & quality matters. * Knowledge management - keeping internal documents such as risk management policies and guidance up to date. * Staying up to date with developments in risk management / risk & quality and alerting the practice on a timely basis of changes that impact on them. * Contributing to PwC conferences, presentations and publications. * Contributing to professional accountancy body committees' projects. Key Requirements: * Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) * Minimum of 5 yearspost-qualification experience * Some experience in the area of risk management / risk & quality and company law would be an advantage. Key Skills: * Knowledge of PwC audit and risk management policies and experience of applying this knowledge on audit and assurance engagements. * Ability to understand/interpret new and existing standards and guidance, and changes brought about by updates to company law / regulatory reporting. * Strong interest in audit quality and interest in keeping up to date with developments impacting on risk management / risk & quality agenda. * Excellent communication and writing skills. * Strong time management and organisational skills. * Adaptability and willingness to work on risk management / risk & quality issues, while at the same time managing project work. * Ability to develop strong supportive relationships with engagement teams that help them in serving their clients. * Ability and confidence to engage and interact with engagement leaders on risk management / risk & quality matters impacting their clients. * Ability and confidence to engage and interact with the broader technical team (including Audit Methodology, * Accounting Consulting, Independence and Legal personnel) in dealing with risk management / risk & quality matters. * Focus and passion for providing high quality service.
