Job Description
Our clients business has a long standing history as the UK's market leader in its field. Currently operating within a growth market, the business is looking to continue and grow its national presence, and is centralising its finance operation to North Oxfordshire. The business has grown organically over the last 3 decades and is due to embark on a modernisation exercise, with the finance function being pivotal in delivering this change. As Accounts / Finance Manager you will be responsible for both business as usual functions and for developing the function and its capabilities on an immediate and then ongoing basis: Business as usual: Weekly & monthly cash flows and forecasting. Management of the internal accounting software package, including accurate and timely inputting of all incoming and outgoing invoices. Financial management of supplier accounts. Payroll and wages. Regulatory submissions (CIS, PAYE, NI, etc.). Production of timely management information. External payments. Other finance and bookkeeping tasks as needed from time to time. Business improvement: Develop an improved financial management process, to deliver more up to date and timely financial information. Assess best financial software platforms for the business. Utilise existing technology to deliver analysis and information that will allow better business. management. Drive granular business information, including but not limited to projects and task specific profitability, supplier performance, product cost comparisons. Person Strong financial management and book-keeping skills. High level of experience with Sage and/or XERO. Business oriented accounts / finance manager, able to understand business problems and how to apply finance to help drive solutions. Detailed, organised and with a good sense of priorities. Able to balance priorities within finance with wider business need. Experience within the construction industry in some form would be advantageous.
