Program Manager 2 Job ID: 838174 Location: London, United Kingdom Salary: Competitive plus benefits Opening Date: 5th June 2020 Closing Date: 3rd July 2020 In the last year, the Microsoft Edge team announcedour intention to adopt the Chromium open source project in the development of our browser to create better web compatibility for our customers, and a less fragmented web for all web developers. We've started down that journey releasing early previews to customers and invitedthem tocome along. The Edge Developer Experiences team is chartered to build the cross-platform web application story and developer tools that help web developers build, test, debug, optimize and deploy their sites and cross-platform web applications more productively. Cross-platform and cross-device Progressive Web Apps, WebView, Edge DevTools, WebDriver, Webhint are examples of technologies we build and ship. Our goal is to help make web an excellent canvas that developers choose for their creations that span across Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android and more. We partner closely with several teams across Microsoft - VS Code, TypeScript, Visual Studio, Office, Surface,Xbox, Windows etc. to enable developers to build great applications using web technologies. We are deeply engaged in the Chromium OSS project and continue to work closely with other browser vendors, web standards bodies, and the open source community at large. Given the breadth of technology used to build interactive and immersive experiences on the web, you will have the opportunity to not only enable others to be successful but learn new technologies yourself. Find out more about what the team is up to via our blog: . **Responsibilities** As a Program Manager on this team, you will: + Drive research and analysis of customer's unmet needs to define and drive product evolution in close partnership with the engineering team + Define and own product/feature KPIs, and use data and customer research to drive decisions + Partner with internal and external partner teams to deliver great end-to-end solutions + Communicate effectively with the web developer community in-person and at scale + Lead and actively stay engaged in open-source efforts We value individuals who are + Highly creative and can incorporate industry and competitive knowledge to tackle complex problems + Self-starters that can work independently + Mature in their collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills + Able to operate effectively with ambiguity + Hands-on, have an entrepreneurial passion and are not afraid to code + Excellent at communication and can understand the value of different mediums **Qualifications** Preferred qualifications: + 3+ years of product management/program management/software development experience + Front-end web development or native app development experience and knowledge + Broad understanding of the web platform, web developer workflows, and web tools ecosystem + Passion for working with customers and advocating for product features that meet their needs **If you have read this far and are excited, then what are you waiting for?
