This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, talented and creative communications professional join our award-winning communications team. NHS Lothian is Scotland's second largest Health Board with a workforce of around 26,000. The communications team handles a wide range of issues at pace, internally and externally, so the ability to build relationships quickly and navigate a complex environment will be essential. The team communicates across a range of digital and traditional channels so we are looking for someone who can evidence creative storytelling flair as well as sound editorial judgement and excellent working relationships with the media. You will plan, design and deliver the full range of activities within a corporate communications function including social marketing campaigns, communications strategies, content creation for digital, social and traditional media, events management and communications advice and support for staff across the organisation. You will be a confident and motivated individual with a degree in Journalism, PR or media communications or have equivalent experience. Essential to the post is substantial current experience as a journalist or in a media/communications/PR role. Outstanding communications and writing skills are also a must. The post also involves out-of-hours media cover in a one-in-four rotational basis.
