Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust ,
Frimley, Surrey

Overview

Job Description

We are looking for dynamic Midwives to join our Orchid team for women with additional needs. This is an exciting time to work for Frimley Health at Frimley Park hospital. We have recently been awarded a 'Good' rating by the Care Quality Commission for the second time and we are committed to providing the women who birth at our hospital with a first-class service. We are looking for enthusiastic midwives to help develop the service we provide to vulnerable women, who access our service. We are working towards the recommendations of the National Maternity Review 'Better Births' and aim to deliver continuity of care through the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period. The successful candidates will join a small Midwifery team to work both in the community and the hospital to provide a seamless service. The team will work closely with around 6 colleagues in a supportive, caring and learning environment, supporting students and liaising closely with other members of the wider team, providing excellent and up-to-date care to women from a multicultural background. As members of this team the midwives will have continuous responsibility for a defined caseload of women and for the assessment of care needs. They will provide antenatal intrapartum and postnatal care for women in a place that meets the woman's needs, facilitating informed choice and being involved in the development of a personalised pathway. We have a well established safeguarding process in place and the team will be provided with regular safeguarding supervision from our specialist midwives and the team leader along with the community matron. The consultant midwife will also be available to help develop plans for the women with complex needs. We are looking for fulltime midwives but we will consider 30 hours. Please contact community matron Hayley Jones on hayley.jones4@nhs.net for an informal discussion. *Please note previous applicants will not be shortlisted or interviewed, thank you.
