VICE x Team Based in our London office, the Finance department is a newly centralised shared services team for EMEA who play a busy and vital role within the VICE Media Group. Role x You As our highly motivated and experienced Accounts Receivable Manager, you will oversee the billing process which includes providing support to both internal and external users to ensure that we can provide excellent service to our customer. You will be responsible for managing a team of 4 associates and will report to the Director of Accounting (based in NY) with a dotted line reporting to the EMEA Controllership team. Responsibilities * Ensure high quality invoice and collection processes that comply with appropriate legislation * Ensure effective performance of cash flow is achieved through maximising cash collection and reducing debts to targeted level * Handle escalations for AR associates and tackle difficult collections * Liaise internally with other departments to manage/ drive collections and resolve disputes * Regular review of AR aging reports and customer accounts reconciliations * Drive the collection process, ensuring that the team is developed and motivated to achieve monthly targets * Review and approve all invoices generated by associates for accuracy and completeness * Manage and oversee all intercompany chargebacks and reconciliations * Monthly review of bad debts and adequacy of bad debt provisions * Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables' data * Oversee the cash flow forecast from the receivables perspective * Maintain Accounts Receivable Subledger and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger accounts to the Trial Balance * Maintain accounts receivable files and records * Review internal processes on an ongoing basis, identify any potential opportunities to improve and implement necessary changes. * Support the delivery of internal and external audits requirements * Management and talent progression of 4 direct reports Experience * Senior core credit management experience with proven track record in cash collection * Experience using cloud based ERP systems required * Experience in Media/Advertising industry or fast paced environment preferred * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel / Word * Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and good knowledge of VAT across EMEA * Experience working with multiple legal entities and multiple currencies * Strong communication skills with ability to provide succinct and articulate credit analysis and recommendations within VICE * Ability to work independently as well as across functional teams and provide a credible voice for the AR team * Strong team management skills You have these: * Great interpersonal skills * You'll be confident, adaptable, detail oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills * The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and changing priorities and circumstance * Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency We'd also love if you had these: * NetSuite, Concur and or SalesForce experience * Verbal and written fluency in another language Working at VICE VICE prioritises the ideas and people that other media companies miss.
