Job Description

" An opportunity has arisen at Glasgow Airport for a Senior Commercial Analyst , to cover maternity leave on a fixed term contract from mid July 2020 to 31st August 2021. Core hours (Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm) with some flexibility required at month end to meet business needs. Job Overview Support the Senior Commercial team in developing and achieving the commercial objectives by overseeing the financial management of the monthly reporting and annual forecasting process for the aeronautical and retail income stream to optimise commercial income whilst maintaining financial governance. NB. The below requirements can be for any of the AGS airports Principle Accountabilities Manage the overall financial control environment within aeronautical and retail income, providing detailed monthly commercial reports and ensuring the accuracy of; 1. Aeronautical rebate provisions 2. Aeronautical income reporting and reconciling to the accounts 3. Retail income reporting and reconciling to the accounts 4. Commentaries, trend data and explanation of variances \t * Continuous improvement of financial performance; accuracy of financial numbers in the aeronautical and retail income stream and control of aeronautical, retail and marketing costs \t * Develop and maintain analytical tools and techniques for assessing commercial opportunities and projects. This will include but is not limited to analysis to support route development discussions, current traffic trends, commercial tenders and income forecasting models \t * Financial management of the aeronautical and retail income and cost streams, forecasting for the year ahead and the 5 year long terms business plan \t * Financial management of aeronautical and retail monthly reporting requirements providing trend data and in depth explanations of variances \t * Work with the Head of Aviation preparing for tariff negotiations with airlines, includes preparing support proposals for shareholders, slide packs, financial implications and achieving deadlines to comply with regulated requirements (eg.ACD) for Glasgow Airport \t * Support the commercial team with the development of the airport commercial strategies \t * Provide ad-hoc reporting and financial modelling, giving insight to support the wider commercial agenda or as required by the Head of Aviation, Head of Retail AGS Chief Commercial Officer and AGS Chief Financial Officer \t * Develop and maintain competitor analysis (including agreed benchmarks) which can be used throughout Glasgow Airport \t * Ensure the accuracy of aeronautical deals and retail contracts in the relevant charging systems \t * Ensure the accuracy of aeronautical and retail audits, contracts and rebates \t * Liaise with internal and external auditors for aeronautical and retail contracts, income and cost accruals \t * Manage any unresolved aeronautical debt and retail balances \t * Manage efficiency projects as required \t * Develop the ability to close monthly aeronautical income for all 3 AGS airports together with accurate back-up analytics \t * Review work of junior analyst to ensure high quality delivery offering constructive and coaching feedback to improve insight. Qualifications and Experience \t * Part-qualified or relevant time-served experience \t * Proven track record in a similar role \t * Highly numerate with advanced knowledge of excel and strong analytical and problem-solving skills \t * Good attention to detail and ability to work to a high level of accuracy \t * Good commercial acumen \t * Flexible attitude, team-player and ability to work to tight deadlines \t * Good fit with business culture and values " Education: Not Specified Employment Type: Temporary full-time
