The Collections Supervisor will supervise and control operational activities of the depot. To maintain company and legislative records. Support and manage the workforce in the achievement of their daily/weekly/monthly tasks, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of the service within the requirements of the Contract. The Biffa division youll be supporting Biffas household waste division delivers a range of cost-efficient, quality-led waste management services for 31 local authorities across the UK. With over 3,300 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste management division makes 4.3 million collections each week from over 2.3 million households across Britain. Why its an opportunity not to be wasted. * Work alongside like-minded waste professionals in a brilliantly diverse environment built on transparency not bureaucracy. * Monitor workforce performance against targets to ensure all daily/weekly/monthly KPIs are met. Implement and monitor action plans to address variances between target and actual. Address any ongoing issues as appropriate. * Ensure that all Company policies and procedures and legal obligations are understood and adhered to by all members of staff. * Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Client and internal/external customers. * Attendance Client/customer meetings as required. Ensure that all reports required as part of the Contract are delivered in time for meetings and any follow up actions are completed timely. * Ensure all records and systems are maintained for the effective and compliant operation of the Contract. Including those required for EA compliance. * Carry out induction and safety training on a regular basis for all staff on site * Ensuring that safety check are carried out and suitable repairs completed * Manage staffing levels and holidays to meet the business needs * Responsible for submitting accurate and timely attendance records for operational staff Requirements Heres what we require: * Extensive understanding of the waste industry and relevant laws * Experience of producing and analysing reports using Microsoft Office Suite and internal IT systems * The ability to work within a commercially driven and time-critical environment. * Experience of people and health and safety management within a unionised and multi-shift environment. * Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, however A-Levels or a Degree certainly wont do any harm. * Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPIs * Experience of vehicle management CPC, tachos, Road Transport Directive * Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment Benefits And heres why youll love it at Biffa. * Competitive salary * Ongoing career development, training and coaching because if you dont grow, we dont grow. * Generous pension scheme. * Medical and dental scheme. * Retail and leisure discounts. * Holiday and travel discounts. * Bike to work scheme Dedicated to diversity.
