The UTC provides advice, diagnostics and treatment for patients that attend with minor injuries and illness from 07.30-22.00 seven days a week, 365 days a year. As an Initial Assessment Practitioner, you will be the first practitioner that a patient sees after booking into the department. You will undertake an initial assessment to determine if the patient is safe to return to a booked appointment, safe to wait to be seen or is a priority case that need to be seen immediately. Part of this role will involve patient assessment to determine if an x-ray is required following an injury. You will work alongside other Nurses and Paramedic Practitioners, Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and Healthcare Assistants and other non-clinical staff to deliver the best possible patient care. Our permanent roles are 37.5 hours per week. As we are a 7 day service, we are ideally looking for Nurse and Paramedic Practitioners who can work a variety of shifts which include evenings and weekends. Our shifts are varied and range from 7.5 hours- 12.5 hour shifts.
