Overview
Job Description
Mission Are you an experienced data scientist or data engineer who likes working with people and making them-and their organisations-successful? Are you interested in progressing your personal development and career while staying hands-on? If so, we're looking for you! At Databricks, we aim to make our customers successful through helping them become more data-driven. The Solutions Architects (SAs) work with customers who are just beginning their journey with Databricks. We work interactively with our clients to help them solve their most important data challenges. Every SA gains expertise with our products, as well as techniques in data science and data engineering. Our SAs have the freedom to pursue career development in specialist areas that interest them, and we invest time and budget into their learning and development plans. If you're interested in learning how to build data lakes, deploy ML models or engineer a neural network, this is a great place to be! Our customers are looking for us to lead them through their big data journeys. We draw on personal leadership and people skills as much as technology. We work as a team, combining our strengths and areas of knowledge to find solutions for our customers' biggest challenges. We cannot succeed as individuals, but only by working as a unit. That means that we focus on hiring people who work well with others, and whose instinct is to support, to teach, to mentor. We want new people to feel welcome, and we want them to feel successful. We aim to hire the best-but "best" doesn't just mean intelligence. We look for kindness, character, curiosity, humility. We want a workplace that's fun to be a part of. Outcomes * You come to be perceived by your clients as a thought leader in the sphere of big data analytics * You are seen as an expert on issues of architecture, design, implementation and deployment * You successfully lead your prospects through understanding, evaluating and adopting Databricks * You support your customers by authoring reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications * You successfully integrate Databricks with 3rd-party applications to support customer architectures * You engage with the technical community through leading workshops, seminars and meet-ups * You & your AE form successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory Competencies * An ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, including presenting and whiteboarding * A strong track record of working with clients to make them successful * Ability to design and implement architectures within a public cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) * Some experience writing Spark code in either Python or Scala * A core strength in either data engineering or data science * Ideally, an undergraduate degree in computer science or another STEM subject About Databricks Databricks' mission is to accelerate innovation for its customers by unifying Data Science, Engineering and Business.
