Job Description
The Community Rehabilitation Service currently has an opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join their team. The Community Rehabilitation Service is a multi-disciplinary therapy team providing assessment and rehabilitation in a community setting for those with a range of progressive or acquired neurological conditions. The work is community based and so you must be able to travel throughout the boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment planning of those referred to the service and have the opportunity to develop and enhance your existing clinical skills. You will take a role in the leadership of junior staff and rehabilitation assistants, through supervision, training and appraisal whilst also being involved in the on-going development of the service. There is a well-established appraisal system and a commitment to support staff to develop leadership and clinical skills, through regular supervision, a structured neurology in-service training programme and internal and external training opportunities. The service works closely with our colleagues across the Stroke and Neurology pathway including our Stroke Unit at Meadow Court, Goodmayes, and our team of specialist nurses in PD, MND and MS to aid us in the holistic management of our patients. Essential Criteria for the post include: - Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration - Experience of acute or community neurology - To be able to travel efficiently throughout the boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham We are looking for a candidate who is a team player, enthusiastic, flexible and who possess excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills. This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of 3,784 to a maximum of 4,822).
