INTERNAL VACANCY ONLY therefore only current employees of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS trust will be considered for this post Matron Post in Surgery An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time band 8a Matron post for Surgery at Nottingham University Hospital. Current areas to lead, manage and innovate include Elective Orthopaedic, Upper Gastro Intestinal Endocrine and Neuro Rehabilitation services. The specialties have a strong reputation for training and innovation and the multidisciplinary team work closely together to ensure patients receive the best possible care and outcome. We are looking for a highly motivated professional nurse to undertake the role of Matron. You will have an extensive skill set in nursing management and leadership and be an effective communicator. You will be a positive role model and hold responsibility to support the developments of Clinical Governance and Service Improvement, modernise patient services and ensure the active involvement of patients and carers in the way services are developed, delivered and evaluated. You will be an integral member of the senior management team for the specialties, working alongside the Head of Service and Specialty General Manager. The post holder will be accountable for ward areas ; managing capacity and flow and the associated teams. As such leadership skills are a must.
