To this end, NHS Lothian welcomes applications from all sections of society. ***PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early*** Department of Pharmacy Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Clinical Pharmacist Acute and General Medicine Band 7 - 37.5 hours per week (1.0 WTE) £39,300 - £46,006 The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering the best practice across a wide variety of specialist services. Acute and General Medicine at the Royal Infirmary provides immediate and early management of medical patients who require urgent or emergency care, assessing over 100 patients every day across assessment areas, short-stay and in-patient wards. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacist to join the well-established and dynamic Acute and General Medicine Pharmacy team in a patient centred role that focuses on medicines optimisation and support of patient flow, from the front door through to admission, in a busy and challenging environment. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across the service in the delivery of high quality patient care, while contributing to ongoing service development, teaching and quality improvement initiatives. The post holder will have a high degree of autonomy for personal development within a supportive team; where pharmacists have an established non-medical prescribing role. Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent; be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have completed the Scottish Hospital Pharmacy Vocational Training Scheme or equivalent. Ideally, candidates will have experience pro-actively influencing prescribing within a secondary care environment, and will have gained experience working in a patient focussed environment using their knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines. The post holder will work within Acute and General Medicine until the end of March 2021 to cover a secondment. Thereafter, the post holder will be redeployed within the NHS Lothian pharmacy service.
