Job Description Quotient are recruiting for an Engineer to join the Engineering and Facilities team based near Penicuik, EH26 0BF. The role is a full time, permanent position working flexible hours. The primary function is to provide engineering support to ensure that the manufacturing and facility equipment is calibrated, maintained, optimised and functioning to expected operating standards, resulting in reduced downtime, increased yield with optimum quality and throughput. Responsibilities include: * Performing all engineering tasks associated with laboratory, production and facilities equipment. * Ensuring that all work undertaken complies with Health & Safety legislation, SOP's, statutory/regulatory requirements and the principals of cGMP * Driving & owning continuous improvement projects by utilising Lean tools and principles to reduce waste and improve cost effectiveness, yield and equipment uptime. * Initiating developmental and improvement initiatives for equipment, staff and processes. * Managing visiting contractors ensuring that all works are completed safely and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements. Qualifications * Recognised Engineering qualification [Mechanical or Electrical] NC/HNC in Engineering. * Time served or modern apprentice to SVQ/NVQ level 3 or equivalent. * Health & Safety training / qualification. * Relevant experience working in a similar Engineering GMP medical advice / pharmaceutical environment would be advantageous.
