University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust is in the top 10 research active NHS Trusts in the UK. The pharmacy has a well-established and dedicated team of pharmacy trial experts to support clinical research. The department helps facilitate over 230 clinical trials within the Trust across all clinical specialities. ABOUT THE TEAM You will be joining an established team to be one of three band 7 clinical trial pharmacists within the clinical trial team which comprises of 21 dedicated staff; supporting the ongoing portfolio development of clinical trials undertaken within University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. By integrating your work with the cancer care pharmacy, Southampton clinical biomedical research unit and welcome Trust clinical research facility you will be able to influence and direct the way clinical trials are conducted, ensuring maximum patient safety and good clinical practice compliance. WHAT YOU'LL DO Your job will combine supporting oncology and non oncology clinical trials. The role will involve taking responsibility for the set up and delivery of clinical trials within pharmacy providing support to our clinical trials team. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Experience of clinical trials pharmacy is desirable. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice compliance is essential. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, innovative and committed to providing the highest quality of research and care for patients recruited to clinical trials. You will need an ability to develop effective working relationships, to challenge and to prioritise your own work. As part of your training you should have completed a clinical diploma or equivalent and be committed to continuing professional development within the field.
