Company Description Overview Specialist role Delivery manager Summary of the work To work across various projects with multi-disciplinary, highly skilled delivery specialists. You'll be adept at delivering complex projects, breaking down barriers for your teams, and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen. Latest start date 01/10/2016 Expected contract length 12 months, but may be shorter, depending on how the work develops and the needs. Region London Organisation the work is for Department for Business, Innovation & Skills Job Description About the work Who the specialist will work with Head of Agile Delivery, other Digital Specialists, Other Delivery Managers,. BIS Operations team and senior management. What the specialist will work on * Deliver projects(s) using an appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently and to an appropriate level of quality for the stages (discovery/alpha/beta/production) * Work with Head of Agile Delivery / Product Manager(s) / other Delivery Manager(s) to define the roadmap for any given product * Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the programme Matrix-managing a multidisciplinary team * Actively participate in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice * Provide leadership cross programme on agile and lean methodologies Work setup Address where the work will take place Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, London Working arrangements Monday to Friday on site. A professional working day, hours and working pattern as needed to deliver the service in an efficient way. Mainly based from our offices in Westminster, London. Travel to BIS or other partner organisations may be required. Security clearance Minimum Baseline Personnel Security Standard Qualifications Skills and experience Essential skills and experience * 2 years or more experience as a delivery manager on agile project * Experience working closely with stakeholders to help refine project vision, goals and release themes. Comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. * Experience working with software delivery teams using modern technologies and practices * Have demonstrable experience of working in a culture of continuous delivery and improvement. Can show evidence of creating a culture of innovation for delivery teams. Nice-to-have skills and experience * Understanding of a wide range of programme and project management methodologies and how to integrate them different environments * Have previous experience in a government transformation programme Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
