Company Description Summary of the work Test Design &Consultancy Services are part of Technology. Providing specialist services to support the successful delivery of a challenging mix of digital and technology programmes. This role is primarily responsible for assisting in the delivery of QA and testing for projects. This is a re-procurement of an existing role. Latest start date 31/5/2016 Expected contract length 2 Years Region London Job Description About the work Who the specialist will work with The role will involve managing over 50 mixed supplier and civil servant resources. What the specialist will work on Initiating and influencing test automation and test engineering practices Initiating and influencing the use of a broad range of tools, including open source and cloud based Ensuring and advising on integration testing at an organisational level, which may involve complex technical integration with other organisations Ensuring/ advising on the use of analytical techniques Enable the use of exploratory testing techniques and evaluating aspects of user experience, accessibility, compatibility and performance Initiating and influencing the delivery of test engineering within an agile environment Ensure and advise on how to apply test engineering practices to support the digital by default service standard. Work setup Address where the work will take place Central London and Croydon Working arrangements On site 5 days per week. Expenses will not be paid for travel within the M25. Travel to other parts of the country will be claimable. Security clearance SC is needed Qualifications Skills and experience Essential skills and experience * Experience of large scale integration testing of cloud based platforms * Experience of large scale Data Migrations into cloud based platforms * Ability to define and implement agile test strategies at an organisational level * Experience of running large (>40) performance and automation testing teams based on open source tooling * Significant experience in QA testing practices including system, system integration, accessibility, compatibility, performance and exploratory testing * Experience of integrating Test/DevOps tooling within a Continuous Integration lifecycle * Experience of testing Big Data Hadoop frameworks Nice-to-have skills and experience * Experience of integration of biometric systems experience working on government digital projects * Experience of DevOps toolsets including Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Nexus, Atlassian suite of tools * Experience of HortonWorks Big Data framework * Experience in containerisation e.g. Docker Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
