We are currently recruiting for a Senior IHC & Imaging Scientist at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. You will work within our modern purpose-built Special Pathology Services facility where you will play a key role in directing studies within the group as well as being involved in developing and evaluating novel assays. The facility accommodates the very latest equipment for immunohistochemistry (Leica Bond and Ventana Discovery Ultra) as well as image analysis (VisioPharm) and slide scanning (Aperio and Vectra Polaris) platforms. Following a comprehensive training and career development scheme, the key responsibilities of this varied role will include: * Development of Immunohistochemical and In-Situ Hybridisation assays and subsequent transfer of these assays to studies. * Involvement in the development of image analysis algorithims. * Study Direction of StandaIone SPS studies. * Cryo and Paraffin sectioning of tissues for cross reactivity and tissue profiling assessments. Education/Qualifications: * Preferably BSc or MSc in Biomedical/Biological Sciences. Experience: * You will be an experienced Immunohistochemistry Scientist with an extensive knowledge of key histotechnology platforms and will have the ability to apply your experience to target profiling and human and animal species tissue target validation. * You will have a background of working with immunohistochemistry (including multi-plex chromogenic and fluorescence immunohistochemistry) and In-Situ Hybridisation. * You will have experience as a study director/ principal Investigator for standalone investigations. * Experience with Image Analysis and slide scanning platforms would be an advantage. * You will have a target-orientated outlook, suited to working within a fast-paced, production-intensive environment. * Ability to coach and mentor fellow colleagues. * Once trained, the job involves working overtime, which may be weekdays, weekends, Bank Holidays and may be part of the on-call rota.
